First time IPSC competition!

Shot my first one today in Owensboro. Man was is fun! I have never shot on the move before. I need lots more practice. Had a few misses and killed one hostage(no shoot) that I didn't like the looks of. All in all I loved it! I'm so slow but I'll definitely do it again.

If anyone is considering it, get to it.

Good for you!

Always wanted to. Perhaps I'll make the time someday.

I shot a "fun match" with bowling pins, steel plates, and a "jungle walk" years ago at the Gallatin Gun Club and had a ball.

That was the first time my HighPower let me down...those darn wooden bowling pins just wouldn't drop for me. I ran 3 mags and 28 seconds getting those 5 pins off the table. That was an embarrasment. Felt like an idiot.  But it sure was faun.

I used to shoot bowling pin tournaments years ago.  The secret back then was shooting about 3-4 inches up and to the side maybe an inch. The heavy weight is in the bottom of the pin and the side shot would spin the pin off the table 45acp was what I shot back then.  Lots of fun.

Yes, 45acp was the best for pin matches. But I didn't know any better then. It was a 9mm or nothing. By the time I figure out that anything but a high-neck hit on the pin wouldn't knock them over or off the table...well you saw my time.

But in my defense, I was getting great little holes punched in the pins, just was taking 2 and 3 shots to get'em all off the table. Did fair with the steel plates though.
