Basically, if you likes movies, you'll like The Dark Knight.

Just got back from seeing it. It was absolutely brilliant. I hate that Heath Ledger passed away. I have a feeling he would have had alot to offer if he had not died so young. :D

Well it only made $155 million, still that is a record for an opening weekend. They say however that higher ticket prices put it over the top and that Spiderman 3 last year actually may have sold sold more tickets.

Higher ticket prices. That's another reason I don't go to a lot of movies. How much was popcorn? $50 a bucket? B)

I get into movies for free at any Carmike owned theater :tinfoil::cool:

I agree. He is a major reason I've never seen the first Batman movie.

You all are insane...Nicholson is brilliant...Heath Ledger might have a lil more depth though...never did see a gay Nicholson....what about One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest....that wasnt typical Jack....i think he might have stereotyped himself in his more current roles but still a great actor...Departed anyone?

Cuckoo's Nest was tolerable thanks to the great supporting cast. His standard acting job is being himself - weird and annoying. I have a copy of Little Shop of Horrors around here somewhere. He played that first role as he has played all of his parts since.

my buddy went to see it over the weekend...he said it sucked.

he said the joker was interesting for a couple of minutes..but that was about it.

he fell asleep in the theater! this I believe...If you want to see a good movie....go see Hancock.

The wife and I just got back from seeing the Dark Knight. We both thought it was a good movie, not great, but pretty good.

Wow, cant believe he fell asleep. I saw it at 9am without having even a single cup of coffee and only a few hours of sleep and I never even remotely felt tired.

I wasnt impressed with Hancock. There were a couple funny scenes, but the plot was severely lacking and the back story was virtually non-existent.

So far for this summer in my opinion.

Dark Knight > Iron Man > Wanted > Get Smart > Indiana Jones > Hancock > Forgetting Sarah Marshall

I think, overall, Hancock sucked pretty badly. Wasn't impressed at all with it, and I didn't even pay to see it.

Dark Knight was pretty good, IMO, though. I don't think it lived up to the record-breaking hype that it's received... but it was a good movie. Snagged it off the net a cpl nights ago and have watched it a few times now.

I thought it was incredible. I absolutely loved this new Batman movie. I echo the other's sentiments that Heath way outdid Jack as Joker. He absolutely brought a lot more to the character. Excellent movie.

Did anyone who's watched the movie notice that Morgan Freeman's character gave a short lecture to Batman about how wrong and morally reprehensible it is to listen in on people's cell phone conversations by using technology? It seemed pretty obvious that they were trying to make reference to "Evil George Bush is illegally spying on our citizens and it is so terribly wrong". Liberal Hollyweird socialists won't give up!! Or maybe I'm just paranoid.

My guess is they had to toss that scene in at the last minute to replace 4 more minutes of creepy joker awesomeness when Heath Ledger offed himself.

Ledger didn't commit suicide and filming was already complete when he died.

Saw it last night - even on a Tuesday night every showing was sold out!

Crazy.

Good flick, I enjoyed it - lots of tension in the movie. Bale kinda annoys me with his 'batman voice', but overall, very good. And yah, they'll have to retire 'the joker' now that Ledger's dead - he owns that role.
