There are many on this very forum who think it will never happen in Tennessee or nationally and they are sadly mistaken.

 

They thought Obama would never, ever be reelected.

 

They think no Democrat would ever jeopardize their position to vote on gun control.

 

Colorado is gone following the precedent New York set.  

 

I'm here to tell you we have a long, long road ahead that will not end well if you cherish your rights.

The metro areas already do offset the rural red areas.  Obama did not win two elections by getting the majority of votes in BFE.

What we are currently seeing is an all-out assault on our constitutional rights. The nanny state is growing, and it just seems like a matter of time before we become like other socialist countries. Liberty will be a thing of the past; something we will tell our grandchildren about, and something that will never be mentioned in public school history classes.

 

Obama made it very clear that he intended to implement fundamental change in America. It has become clear exactly what he meant by that and that he and the Democrats are dedicated to doing just that. They hate the Constitution, and they obviously hate the vision of the founders and intend to correct what they see as one big mistake.

Escaped Californian here. Glad to be part of the current land of liberty here in TN.

Served in the AF in Colorado and could tell 10 years ago that that state was going to fall to the Left. Now both houses of the state legislature as well as the governor are Ds.

The more the hogs become dependent on the grain feeder the more they become dependent on the "man". Not long after that they're bacon.

Time for people (e.g. public servants) to make the choice between a pension and their kids/grandkids futures. Those who can make it by some other means than on the taxpayers back need to abandon the Democrat party.

I read an article that stated the liberals are zeroing in on Texas for sure. The plan, it was stated, is to turn Texas to Blue.  If their plan succeeds they feel they will have the electoral votes to take full control.  Congress, Senate and the White House. After Texas the article said Florida was next on the radar.  Even though Obama won Florida, is was a very tight race and they want Florida to be a very strong blue state, making the Left unbeatable in the electoral voting arena.  If they get what they want, we may as well just have a Socialist dictator in Washington.

Once you have the illegals made legal and less and less people working, you will see more democrat minded voters.  Add in transplants from the north and California to fast growing Nashville and Chattanooga moving to the areas for what they think are cheap houses and it can happen to TN.

2008: Shelby 63-35%, Davidson 59-38% Obama

2012: Shelby 62-36%, Davidson 58-39% Obama
