Reminded of why NOT to join the NRA

I know what you mean! But, it's the most effective organization we have to represent our interests. They're not perfect so I just grin and bear it.

I only get the NRA emails I have not experienced any "junk" email

When I upped my membership to endowment last month, I specifically asked them to remove me from any and all lists.  I don't recall any email lately and only 1 regular mail.  May be worth calling and asking them to remove you from everything.

You can email or call and tell them you want to be on the DO NOT PROMOTE list and significantly reduce the junk. In the big scheme of things it's really a small act to do to support the biggest and most effective group that fights for your 2A rights.

... or you can avoid the emails, not join, and you personally can do the amount of work the NRA does for the 2A. If offered the choice, I'll take junk mail and guns over no junk mail and no guns. But maybe it'll all work its self out and the conservatives will win without really standing up for a fight ... everyone remembers how well that strategy worked out in November yea?

I know this will not go over very well..................... but I am thinking we are giving the NRA way too much credit? just sayin :hiding:

Oh my word how many junk emails can one get? They must have sold my contact info to the world!

I must have opted out of the spam. I do get emails from the NRA, but not too much on spam.

Mine must be broken.  I get alerts and such from the NRA, but no spam.

I don't get the spam. As stated though, they are a very necessary evil right now.

I don't get them either. Guess I said no thank you to their email list.

You can opt out of most junk mail and spam.

Some years ago when I joined I opted out and I get very few emails from the NRA.

No spam in my box either, maybe the NRA is not the source of your spam? Or maybe you need to log on and opt-out?  :)

I've noticed that they tend to use scare tactics years ago yelling fire when there isn't one...that hasn't changed today with their Feinstein AWB bill that everyone says that there's no chance of passing. I've also noticed when they do nothing when I think they should do something.

I don't get any junk e-mail from them, just sales flyers for the NRA store 3 or 4 times a year.

You can go ahead and drop out of the NRA and depend on the ACLU to defend your 2a rights.

This is how they raise money to do things like fight the cities of Chicago and Washington, D.C. in the Supreme Court to affirm our right to keep weapons. It's much harder for them to successfully fight these anti-freedom zealots in court than it is for us to create an email filter that sends these messages to the trash.
