Anyone going to Bristol this weekend?

I'm heading up Friday morning but can't stay for the Cup race so I'll pack my stuff and leave when the race starts. I get to see the Nationwide race and get to visit with friends that I've camped with for the last 12 years or so. It will be a good weekend even without seeing the big race.

I've only got 1 ticket so if you are going and need 1 ticket then PM me. It's a low seat in turn 1 on the end of the row. You can be outside the fence in less than a minute when the race is over if you are in a hurry.

This is a picture from the seat. Cars coming off of pit road are coming straight at you and it's a great view of the top cars pits and their battle coming off of pit road plus a great view of exit from turn 4 and the start/finish line.

 

 

I camp about 1/2 mile from the track on the Johnson City side. This is 100 yards from the corner where I'll be camped so if you can't hook up with me before I leave then catch up with me here up to race time. I leave here 30 mins before the green falg and am always in my seat in time for the flyover!

I never go to a race without my scanner!!! It's an entirely different experience!!

Good place to see a race, but I gave up NASCAR after Dale Sr. passed away... No fighting, no cussing, no bump drafting and no more free dip and cigarettes.. The old gray mare just ain't what she use to be.. We went spring and fall back when it was fun.. Bristol to watch a race Talladega to see naked women.. Have fun and watch out for the Po-Po..

I don't deal well with crowds or I'd be there.  I have gone to races there in the past but the pleasure just isn't worth the pain.  Enjoy!  It's a great place to see a race. 

 

Kind of like what I've said after numerous visits to France.  It's a beautiful country and would be a great place to visit if it wasn't for all the French people there.

I live 15 mins from the track. I I'd had a little more heads up I definitely be there, but unfortunately already have plans. Have fun

I won't even be able to watch the race on TV, taking my daughter on a trip.  Hopefully be able to catch a bit of it on the radio.

This is probably old news for most, but if it saves one person some $$$...   If you are approaching the speedway from Johnson City, take great care thru the fiefdom of Bluff City/Piney Flats.  Speed limit drops to 45, and BC has made well over $1.5 million in the last few years off of a strategically-placed speed camera monitoring both sides of 11E.  They're located about a quarter-mile or so past the Industrial Park intersection (red light) if Bristol-bound, and just past Pardners BBQ if JC-bound.  Watch for the small warning signs, and don't feed the trolls...

Do you park cars in your yard? The guy I stay with can get about 65 cars and a few campers in his yard.

Anybody parks in our yard has to deal with the Mrs.!  Her flowers/veggie garden are strickly VERBOTTEN....no one/ no animal/ no vehicle comes near or the unbridled wrath comes out.....in all sorts of evil and sundry ways....  :rant:

I don't know why he dropped off here but it's been back in '11 since his last time to sign on. I've traded emails with him over the years and have been to his house and done a little shooting in his back yard! He's a great guy! Even gave me a Lee press to get me started reloading! The race ticket is just a little payback.
