Took the plunge on an XD-9

Placed the order at Austin's TN Firearms today. Barring any problems I will have it on the range Saturday afternoon. Went for a little extra and got the night sights.

I've been testing one at the range. I like the feel and trigger pull. Everyone I've spoken to who has one likes them. Seems to be a lot of them carried by gun store owners/employees.

I am getting an XD 40 next week. Springfield has some sort of sale that has just started and my dealer is ordering his on Monday so I should have mine by Wed. 7/23 . Too bad I can't get it before the shoot on Sat.

Can anyone give me any thoughts on what sights I should get?

The only thing I dont like is that the subs feel a little top heavy. That being said the mid and 5" feel great.

I was talking with Phantom, he has an XD also, asked if there were any brands of ammo to avoid and he said he had no problems with any he had put in his.

I would have to agree. I have the XD40, and although I mainly stick with WWB, I have NEVER had a single issue, with any ammo. It's been flawless.

I've put almost every kind of cheap ammo through my 9 sc and 9 service and never had a single problem. great little guns

I've owned 5 XDs... still have 2 of them, both XD-9s. Great pistols with many upgrades available, and super reliable. I've had 2 of mine break striker roll-pins, but they still shot perfectly until I noticed and had a chance to fix them. No functional malfunctions related to the guns. Springfield customer service is great.

As far as sights - TFO's. I absolutely love them. Great for indoor or low light and phenomenal outside. I recommend the Yellow rears with the green fronts.
