I have always wondered if you could sell it to Phillips metals(old steiner liff) place downtown. I am a plumber and once a year I sell all my scrap copper/brass.  I have wondered if you could sell it there as yellow brass, which is usually about 2$ a pound.  Might be worth a phone call.

If you are just giving it away, I would do my best to get a couple barrels.

I have not called  Phillips metals but from what I understand they do buy it.. Not sure how much 26 55 gallon barrels of brass weights. so I am not sure how much it is worth. But it could be a project a few of us could team up on and split the booty..

David I may be interested in a barrel or two if it's somewhat avalible that way, but I know I can't do 26 barrels. Any idea on the calibers?

That could be a good payday. Even at a reduced price for contaminated brass. Sheer volume should pay a good price...depending on how much you had to pay for it that is.

Brass is going for 1.60 a pound I think.

600 x 1.60 = 960 good payday

960 x 26 = 24,960 good 3 week.

We rent a dock at work, about a dollar a mile on fuel.

190 miles = 190 dollars, truck rental 250 or less, makes a good trip.

David ya need a hand? :yum:
