Philadelphia girl searched, berated for having a gun made of paper at school

Recommended Posts

Ugh ...
What kind of grandfather makes a paper gun for a girl? Education about guns and gun-safety isn't the answer because guns are dangerous; the only solution to this problem is to ban them all and berate anyone that might think they are good.
<sarcasm off>
Seriously this is so stupid. But it's the liberal way. If they can't take it from us ... then slowly indoctrinate the children so that it fades out overtime (they did this with the homosexual and abortion agenda - except they let these slowly creep into society). Edited by npgunner

What's even more rediculous is the school where the kid that made his Pop Tart in a "gun shaped pastry" is offering counseling for the other student affected by the incident. Hell, I need counseling over how stupid our country is becoming.

Amen, brother. We are in total agreement.

The liberal madness is so rampant I rear there is no hope of sanity left for the country.

Fifty years or less and this country will be a memory.  Oh it still may exist as the US but in name only.

Looking like a lot less. :(

I used to not think this way but I can honestly say I truly believe this nation will be once again bathed in the blood of its own or the LORD will come back and the end of this time will start. There is no way the center can hold anymore.

I am not someone who sues people but if that was my kid? I would be seeking legal recourse.

Yep, I'd go to war over that.

An official at D. Newlin Fell School searched the student, Melody Valentin, in front of her entire class, reports FOX 29. After the search failed to turn any more weapons (paper or non-paper), the staffer intensely scolded the little girl – also in front of the whole class.

Valentin explained that she had attempted throw the contraband away, but a boy saw it and notified administrators.

“He yelled at me and said I shouldn’t have brought the gun to school and I kept telling him it was a paper gun but he wouldn’t listen,” the fifth grader told the station.

Describing the paper firearm, the girl’s mother, Dianna Kelly, said it looked similar to a folded sheet of paper. The little girl’s grandfather had made it for her the day before, she added.

Valentin told FOX 29 that she had put it in her pocket and forgotten about it. She said she only got it out to throw it away.

She added that her classmates had jeered her and called her a “murderer” after the incident.

According to Kelly, the taunts and the dressing down in front of her classmates were allegedly too much for her daughter to take. The fifth grader has been suffering from nightmares, her mother told FOX 29.

Berated, embarrassed, and ridiculed by an administrator in front of the whole class?  Classmates allowed to join in the fun?  I can't imagine why a kid would want to bring a gun to school and shoot up the place...

Other than the subject matter I don't see any difference in the conduct of schools from the time of my youth until now.

Yikes!  Did someone say, "Pop-Tart"   Hmmmm.... They will ban the name next as it has a hidden reference to guns!

And let's not forget those deadly cupcakes that were banned from the school, and the kid sent home because he decorated the tops of them with WWII plastic soldiers!

I don't know about suing, but I do think a lot of the people, supposedly responsible for educating our children,

need a swift kick in the ass, or maybe be set in pillories in front of the schools they teach so kids can throw

Pop Tarts at them while saying "bang!".
