How things have changed at the range.

I tend to agree with this.^ I waited until the end of an IDPA match this weekend (my first one) to pick up brass. I know I didn't pick up just MY brass that I had shot but I only picked up the amount that I had shot. I was the new guy so I am sure some folks though I was being a "range chicken" as someone said earlier but I figure if I waited that long everyone else had the chance to get some. Picking it up during the match is just a pain to me.

I've done the same at 3 gun matches @ MSSA.  Generally at the end of the day, I'll help tear down and pick up some brass.  Its one of those things that no one minds but you be polite and just ask out loud....no issues.

I think most everyone's gripes here are about people picking their brass up on the static line ranges.  If someone is picking my brass up while I'm messing with my target, at a minimum they're going to catch a polite confrontation.

After the match, pick up all the brass you want, it's on the ground, everyone is done shooting, get it all...

But...

You're out pasting targets and realize it's just you and couple of the same people doing all the pasting, when you turn to yell for more pasters all you see are asses stuck up in the air.

You're trying to do a walk through and everyone is in the way trying to pick up brass.

I don't think the competition comment was out of place.

I dusted off the walther PPK sunday and there was a kid grabbed all 7 rounds of brass literally the minute i shot it and stuck it in his pocket.  I let it go but are we telling our kids to steal brass these days? Unreal......

If its not a big deal then why complain about it?

Seems that if there is an issue why not ask the person to please not take what is not his?

I would not let that slide.Grown up or a kid.. They are in essense taking what is not theirs..And thats stealing, right?

Common courtesy is ask first before you take it...

Last time I was at my range it was packed to the point I was not comfortable. When its elbow to elbow across the bench no thanks.

Only brass I want back is my 5.56 and other rifle brass. I have enough 9, 40 and 45 that I need not worry about it.
