A very, very bad day for the prosecutors

 

Well today was a complete and utter disaster for the prosecution.  They may need to be put into suicide watch.

Got to admire the ammount of time your taking to get out accurate information regarding this trial.    I think you've already racked up more man hours than the entire prosecution judging by their performance.

The prosecution is used to winning against weak opponents.

 

They've run up against vastly superior legal intellects.

 

When I say "vastly", I mean the defense is winning this battle on levels the State isn't even aware exist.

 

It's a prosecution (a High School football team) used to fighting inexperienced public defenders (the Pee-wee football league) suddenly finding themselves up against smart and experienced defense counsel (pick the ruthless NFL team of your choice).

Exactly.  The State is losing, and badly, to a guy who made a knock-knock joke.  :-)

 

In fairness to them, it's tough to argue well when all the facts favor the side of the knock-knock lawyers.

I wonder if the defense prosecution is at least smart enough to know they're losing? I haven't watched any of the trial footage yet, but they came across as pretty dumb in their pretrial appearances.

Who knows, the power of self-deception is strong.

 

I can't help but notice, however, that Angela Corey, the star "special prosecutor" appointed by the Governor to "handle this situation," is barely seen in the courtroom and has no hand whatever in the actual handling of the case in Court.  I expect that if she saw being associated with this trial as beneficial for her political ambitions, she'd be front and center very single day.  The fact that she's hanging back, or entirely absent, says volumes about her perception of this case.

Today marks the third day of the trial proper, with the State continuing to present it's case and witnesses.

 

We will be covering the trial all day, with live-coverage, streaming video, and an embedded Twitter feed of selected contributors.

I expected the DOJ to jump on that bandwagon from the start. There is no evidence, but there is a lot of emotion.

That's all a political machine, like Holder runs, to do the dirty deed. Why use reason and logic when emotions get

the job done, but forgetting justice?

I had to read it twice since I have been up all night, but did chuckle when it sank in

The primary racists involved here were those who forced this to a trial because Zimmerman is a "white-Hispanic" and Martin was "black"...there is no doubt in my mind that had both men been of the same race (both wihte or both black, etc.) this would have ended when the original DA decided that the evidence supported this as a justified SD shooting (or at least that there was not sufficient evidence to show it wasn't a justified SD shooting).

 

I would suggest that the racism (and political correctness) was truly showing when the "shopped for" DA decided not to take this to the GJ (even though it had been scheduled to do so); likely because the DA knew it could easily result in a no bill based on the evidence but then filed the charge of 2md degree murder...other than those who are blind to the evidence I can't find anyone who believes the Zimmerman is actually guilty of 2nd degree murder (yet many seem fine with him being on trial for it anyway!  :shrug:   ).

 

Of course, I and others have been accuesd of being racists ourselves becaus I believe the above. ;)
