Greg Rodriguez has been killed...

Recommended Posts

Come on guys, this is not gossip central, let's take this for what it was a horrible event and not some love triangle gone bad. The article says she works for a firearms manufacturer, maybe she is in pr, and they were smoozing Rodriguez to put his name on a hunting rifle or an endirsement deal? A little unusual to be at a residence, but maybe they were trying the homey feel. In any case, 3 children have lost their fathers over this. And regardless of if it was a mistaken jealous rage, or legit jealousy, no woman is worth your life or anyone else's.

Well this is exactly gossip central. That's why we post articles and then speculates as to their events.

I just told my wife as she read the story to me. I said "he is married and she is married, what was he doing at her house at 10pm?" As a married man I try to keep a hedge around myself to prevent any misconduct whether real or perceived by others. That would include being at a married woman's house alone.

10:30 at night, drinking wine together? Yeah, perhaps there is a reasonable explanation, but those facts point to something else. If I came home unexpected to find another man in my home having wine with my wife, there's gonna be some problems.

Furthermore, any man should know better than to be in that situation in the first place. That's how people get shot... case in point. Edited by TMF

This kind of stuff is just crazy. I take marital fidelity very serious and avoid situations that might be construed in the wrong light. However, it's not worth killing/dying over. These jealous rages don't make sense anyway. The guy thinks his wife is cheating and kills the other guy and only beats her. Even if the other guy knew she was married and to whom, the wife is the one that I'd think he'd want to kill for it.

But, we don't know the details. Wifey could have been diddlin' the whole town, and the guy finally snapped. I'm with you... not gonna ruin my life over an immoral woman. I've run into way too many of them to take them seriously.

Yuuuup. I remember during my early days in the Army there was a fellow Soldier that would bag wives left and right when their husbands were in the field. Not hard to do as they prowl the local bars with intentions of screwing someone that night, and I'd say the husbands are partly to blame for marrying a whore, but his reasoning was that "someone was going to bang them anyway, why not me?" Those were his exact words. Aside from ethics and morals, I explained to him that when one of these dudes comes looking to kill him I will not have his back. He was my buddy and all, but if some guy smoked him over nailing his wife I wouldn't feel bad for him. We all make choices....

You know I've known quite a few "immoral" women in my life as well. Those were good times. Hell, if I were to find out my wife were ballin' some other guy, my first thought would be along the lines of "my turn! I'm heading out to get some strange myself." Edited by Chucktshoes

Nothing wrong with immoral women  . Just can't expect more than they can give :)

Love is a funny thing. Something tells me there is more backstory on the wife here. Past affair or at least enough distrust by her husband that his first thought when he saw Greg was to kill him because he was sleeping with his wife. I agree though it's not worth killing for. If I suspected my wife was sleeping around and I came home to "proof" dude would be out on his ass and the ole lady would be right behind him. No beatings, no shots fired, just some name calling and suitcase packing.

Wow, I can't believe how tolerant you are. No way I'd let her have a suitcase.

The best way to avoid such situations is to not marry a whore. I've seen more marriages than I can count fail when I was in the Army, and I saw it all coming from a mile away. It isn't hard to identify certain personality traits in women to determine which ones are likely to sleep around. I would find it almost silly when some dude acted surprised that his wife was a slut; if it's obvious to everyone else, how can it not be obvious to the person married to her? I know the answer to that question, it just blows my mind every time I see it.

You said it all right there, man. My first wife was a wild child and so was I, no surprise we ended up divorced to anyone. Now, my current wife I went for the good girl. Family oriented, church involved, master's degree, career goals, etc. Couldn't be happier and we both have zero trust issues. That's a great feeling.

The story says Rodriguez and the woman was at her mothers house, not at her home which was 25 miles away. They had apparently met at a trade show in the area and she worked for a firearms company, but don't say what kind of job.  The 2 year old son would be a clue, but none of the articles say if he was with his mother or father at the time he found them, it just states that he took the boy to relatives, went home and killed himself.  It could have been a case of poor judgement on the meeting location on Rodriguez's and the woman's part and him being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Only the woman knows for sure. I think it could be either way and could have been an innocent meeting because if hanky panky was going on, why not just go to a motel? But if it was an innocent meeting, maybe talking over a future show at the company where she worked, it should have been done in a public place.  Not in her mothers home nor anyone else's home. Seems strange though that this guy just comes in blasting unless he was just super jealous, or had problems with his wife before with other men. Personally, I've never known a woman I would go to prison over.  Much less kill my self.

Sometimes they fool ya, though. Met my ex in HS. She went to the same church and we'd never "dated" anyone else. A year after HS we got married. Five years later, she's messin' around with a 17 yr old employee at the restaurant she managed. Didn't see that coming. Naturally, I was pissed, but I didn't shoot anybody...and that was my first "love".

This time around, I married a gal who got all the "wild" out of her system early, I guess. We've been together 18 years.

Sometimes you guys really take it too far. Anyone who says women like to gossip clearly hasn't spent time on TGO.

This guy hasn't even been buried yet and we've already determined he was there to sleep with this woman who must be a cheating whore.

None of us know what happened and it really doesn't make a difference, even if their relationship was inappropriate Rodriguez didn't deserve a bullet for it.

Chill out there high speed, if you look back I was responding to someone else's post. If you read even further back I pose that the circumstances may have been out of context, but there is still no excuse for another man to be with your wife drinking wine, alone, after hours.

I have been to plenty of meetings after trade shows in homes, restaurants, bars and even Hotel rooms, business women were even sometimes present.

I don’t care if he was hitting it on the floor of the trade show; there is absolutely no justification for what this chicken chit did. He left a whole bunch of victims including his own kid; and then took the easy way out.
