ZX9R%20in%20Memphissm.jpg

If you click on the above picture, it takes you to a bigger version. Nice for forums where large pictures can mess up the formatting especially for those running smaller resolutions.

First you have to have a regular version of a pic and a small version or "thumbnail" sorta...

Don't let the %20 stuff throw you off....the reason they are there is because there were spaces in the filename of the picture.

They originally read as "ZX9R in Memphis.jpg" and "ZX9R in Memphissm.jpg"

When I resized the picture to make it smaller, I named it the same, but with an "sm" on the end before the extension (.jpg) You could use a "1" or whatever. Makes it handy if you can copy the address (http://www.clanthu.com/tgoftp/GlocKingTN/ZX9R%20in%20Memphis.jpg) then just hit paste for the large pic and hit paste and just add "sm" for the small picture.....Hope you're not lost YET!!!

YOU HAVE TO REPLACE ALL {} WITH [] TO WORK. I had to use {} instead of [] or you'd just see the finished product.

{URL=big picture (link to be opened)} <--- defines a link to some web address DON'T FORGET THE 'EQUALS' SYMBOL!!!

{IMG} <--- defines an image

small picture (picture you want to show in forum message)

{/IMG} <--- Closes the IMG tag

{/URL} <--- Closes the URL tag

Normally using URL you could do this:

{URL=http://www.clanthu.com/tgoftp/GlocKingTN/ZX9R%20in%20Memphis.jpg}GlocKingTN's Bike{/URL}

To get this:

GlocKingTN's Bike

Since you are nesting the IMG tags inside the URL tags, the picture becomes the link.

So, replacing GlocKingTN's Bike with {IMG}http://www.clanthu.com/tgoftp/GlocKingTN/ZX9R%20in%20Memphissm.jpg{/IMG} gives you this:

ZX9R%20in%20Memphissm.jpg

Just like one could do this:

{URL=http://www.tngunowners.com}{IMG}http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/images/c1/statusicon/forum_new.gif{/IMG}{/URL}

To get this:

Meh, that's for the non-supergeeks.

Real geeks like their code home-brewed. :confused:

Basically, this thread was for GlocKing's benefit, but I thought some others might find some of it useful.
