This afternoon I received a frantic call from my grandmother saying that my grandfather was 'dead' in his bedroom floor.  Well, he wasn't.. I arrived prior to the EMTs and he was unconscious but still alive.  That was the high point of the day..

We've known for a while he had an 'inoperable' pulmonary aneurysm. Well, it burst.. He got out of surgery less than an hour ago. It didn't go well. We're being told he has 12-24 hours left to be with us.

He's a good man and practically raised me for the majority of my childhood. If any of y'all are the praying type, send one up for us if you don't mind!

Prayers sent for you and yours to find peace and comfort.

We need to treat all our loved ones as though we could lose them at any time. Leave nothing unsaid, smooth over disagreements, make all the memories possible and let them know you appreciate them at every opportunity. Once someone is gone, there are no do-overs.

Praying for you and your family. Grandfathers are a special gift and Lord knows it hurts when they're gone. But hopefully you can find comfort knowing ALL grandfathers go to heaven.

I offer this prayer for your Grandfather and your family:

God of all consolation,
In your unending love and mercy for us
You turn the darkness of death
Into the dawn of new life
Show compassion to your people in their sorrow.

Be our refuge and our strength
To lift us from the darkness of this grief
to the peace and light of your presence.

Your son, our Lord Jesus Christ,
By dying for us, conquered death
And by rising again, restored life.

May we then go forward eagerly to meet him,
And after our life on earth
Be reunited with our brothers and sisters
Where every tear will be wiped away.

I never got to meet either of my Grandfathers.  I'm glad you did.

So sorry to hear this for you and your family.  I am grateful for the good memories you have - which make this time so hard.
