Sad news in our part of town.

Both of this baby girl's parents were in jail and she was in the care of the boyfriend. I sure feel bad for the family. But how do you feel bad for the parents? Aren't they partially responsible? This makes my stomach turn. Hug your kids.

Stories like this remind me why we need forced sterilization in this country. The piece of trash is pregnant with her 8th child, while 6 other children are in the custody of Children Services. Now 1 is dead. Kill both parents and the scumbag boyfriend. Be done with it.

I hate that I agree with this.

+1.
I feel almost guilty that I'm more pissed than saddened when things like this happen. I guess I've just become too jaded. It also doesn't help that instead of focusing on the root of the issues we as a society just tend to forget after a few days until the next tragedy strikes. Edited by TrickyNicky

If it turns out it was truly an accident I'm going to kinda feel like a dick. But I still can't help but feel like if the parents had been acting right....Well, the accident still could have happened, even with one of the parents, but it would have been less likely and a little less hard to swallow.

Unfortunately it will be impossible to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that this wasn't an accident.  I suspect that it was either intentional or the result of gross negligence.  I'm betting the medical examiner comes back with a report citing that the injuries are not consistent with this monster's story, but in a courtroom a laywer could easily put doubt in a jurors mind.  He'll probably plead down to some sort of dumbed down charge and do little time in jail, if any.  Wouldn't do him much good if I was the father of this little girl; every breath he took would be counting down to the day I kick his oxygen habit for him, but then again, I wouldn't be in jail for 6 months while some drug addict boyfriend of the mother watches my child.  Every adult in this scenario needs sterilized at a minimum.

First off..  how  do you "fall" on a child?

Dont buy that one..

and then take the lifeless body to a different house?

IF what happend really did happend the way he said it.. why would you not call 911 right aways?  instead of taken the kid down the road.?

Something  smells  here..

Yes...let us pretend for a moment that there was no "negligence" here at all. Lets pretend that this guy had the baby in a crib in the living room, went to get a glass of water, and then came back into the darkened living room. Since the baby had got out of the crib and crawled across the floor, he didn't see her. Glass of water in one hand and chips in the other, he cannot catch himself as he trips onto the baby. Unarguably 100% tragic, arguably 100% accident.

How do you go from that to "I don't really know what's wrong with her but she hasn't moved in a while. Here she is. Gotta go!". Any caring person would be calling the emergency services immediately.

I think that's the issue. "Ooops she's dead...well...see ya round." Unless  A) you killed her or B) it was an accident but you were screwed up on dope then why not call the authorities? Not that it matters but this was right down the street from my office. That subdivision has a reputation.
