2013 Spring Turkey Quote Hunt

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

So I received a draw today in the mail for a turkey hunt in Chuck Swan State Forest May 9th through the 11th.  Does anyone know how these quote hunts work?  This is the first time that I've entered into the drawing.  And does anyone know much about Chuck Swan State Forest?  I live in middle Tennessee and have never hunted there.

I drew a bow hunt over there a couple years ago, got the flu and couldn't go. Sorry, I wasn't much help. Hope you don't get the flu. :)

There may be a list of regs for the Chuck Swan forest on the TWRA website.

Chuck Swan is an heavily wooded forest with some fields they keep maintained. I've only hunted doce there, so I'm not a lot of help. I'm not sure that I would drive all that way just to kill one more turkey. Unless I had no other options.

I guess it all depends on how my turkey season goes before I decide to drive up there.  If I take a gobbler or two locally before I'm scheduled to go I'll probably pass up on it. The good thing is that my draw is not scheduled until the last weekend of the season so I can wait and make a decision then.  So what's so special about the draw and why does the TWRA do it?
