Star Model B - refinished

Recommended Posts

Just finished a Star Model B project pistol.  This pistol was a C&R piece and is a vintage 1945.  The frame and slide were Ceracoated as a two-tone finish and the grips were replaced with custom wood.  I also made a small part for the safety detent.  It is a very nice shooter and shooting 9MM para out of this .45 clone makes for tame recoil.

That came out looking sharp. The more I look at it the more i like the two tone finish, the grips are beautiful too. Good job!

I like my model b but have a lot of problems with double feeds. I've read it has to do with the magazine being designed around the 9mm largo but I don't know. I'm going to put in a new recoil spring in there one of these days and see if the extra tension helps any.

I'm guessing yours works ok since you went all out on it? When mine is running right it is a very accurate fun gun.

Thanks for your compliments on the Star.  The C&R license gives project guys like me an opportunity to make something look new again.
