Firearms Freedom Bills and the Constitution

Recommended Posts

"If the states fail to pass these acts, we will have our answer: If federalism fails – if the states capitulate or are crushed by the federal usurpation of powers, then the American experiment in Liberty will pass into history as a bright but brief flame, having illuminated what might have been if only humans were capable of restrained self-government."

That's a good article, thanks. I hope federalism succeeds, also. We are also in an equally dangerous fight

with the risk pools and the states' decision on them. Some governors of what I thought were fairly conservative,

dropped the ball on that, and I fear that will make the case against further federalism by some of the cowards

we have elected.

I know Mr. Rounds well, he is certainly versed in the issue postulated.  This article speaks numerous truths, but was penned prior to the Tennessee Legislature denying its responsibility to the Citizens.

We are bereft of Leadership in the General Assembly, where allegiance to Corporate dogma takes precedence over Statesmanship and Service to the Citizens, lust for power and longevity to accrue it by virtue of "time in the saddle" being far more important than adherence to a sworn oath "that as a member of this General Assembly, I will, in all appointments, vote without favor, affection, partiality, or prejudice; and that I will not propose or assent to any bill, vote or resolution, which shall appear to me injurious to the people, or consent to any act or thing, whatever, that shall have a tendency to lessen or abridge their rights and privileges, as declared by the Constitution of this State”.

Almost all of our 'elected representatives', even at the local level, are fully invested in the system as it operates now. They see the power at the top and dream of having a bigger share of that power. None of them want to shake things up. Whether this is due to them actually believing that the status quo is good and proper (after all, that's what they've been taught since kindergarten) or it is just because they are power-lusting SOB's, I don't know. Regardless, it is never going to change until we, the people, demand it.
