Hey guys! I've been gone for a while and miss you guys, so it's good to be back!

School has been a nightmare, and has kept me away from my favorite online community!

Anyways, I'm going camping over spring break, and am searching for some good freeze dried foods to bring along!

I would have gone the dehydrating route, but I don't have the equipment for it sadly.

Does anyone have any reccomendations taste-wise?

We just got an Academy Sports here in Smyrna, and they have an okay variety.

I prefer dehydrated.  The taste is much better.

I tried some mountain hose from Academy. They weren't bad. better than I thought they would have been. Just keep in mind it is freeze dried food so it is what it is. Not as good as fresh but definitely edible.

Mountain House Beef Stroganoff is a definite favorite.

Yeah, I'd heard that. It's a 2 day, 3 night trip, so I was thinking to bring tortillas for the breakfast scramble, and eat a bag each morning, have like a chilli mac, beef strog, and chicken teriyakki for dinner, and a different combo of the last 3 for lunch haha. We're gonna be doing a lot of stuff, so I'm hoping that I get enough energy from them.

Like above, I have Mountain House and it's not bad in #10 cans with a 25 year shelf life.

For a trip to the woods for a few days, military MRE'S are compact and the way to go if you just want to rough it out and keep your belly full and survive.

I found in a GFS store in rivergate area a dehydrated soup mix. Comes in 3 flavors for 6 bucks a bag and it makes a gallon of good tasting soup. Also they have bags of dehydrated re-fried beans for about 5 bucks and it makes about a gallon. You don't have to make the whole bag, just want you need at the time. Good prepper store.
