I've got more money than patience, I guess, so I went ahead and picked this up. Haven't had the chance to fire it yet, that comes Saturday. Very excited - the weekend can't get here fast enough. Ideally I'd like to trade the 16-rd mag extension for another 10-rd standard mag. In my mind the 16-rd mag kind of defeats the purpose of the sub-compact.

Also pictured is the SP-101 .357 that I picked up a few months ago.

Very nice. Great guns, both of them.

I have the XD 9 SC and the XD 9 Service...I love both of 'em, When I carry the SC, I have the 10 rd Mag in the gun and carry the 16 rounder in a velcro mag holder. I typically carry a spare mag whenever I carry. The 16 round mag is also interchangeable with my service model...all i have to do is take off the sleeve :)

I would have gotten a Glock, but when I took a class with PRI, the only person there shooting a Glock was a girl...so I figured the XD's are for men and the Glocks are for girls. hahahhahahahhahahahahhaha:D

When I was carrying my XD, I always put my defense ammo in the 10rd mag and I used the 16rd for target ammo/practice. You should be able to find 10rd mags online at a decent price if you want more though.

Don't beat yourself up for buying too many guns, I for one do not think there is such a problem. ;):koolaid:

I, too have been looking at the XD subcompact but did not like the feel with the standard mag and because the extended mag made it the same size as the compact except for the 1" difference in barrel length I choose the XD 40 Compact. I am expecting it to come in Wednesday. I can't wait to get my grubby hands on it and put a couple hundred rounds through it. I am still hoping to get to TGO shoot on Saturday.
