That's pretty dang funny, right there!

I had an economics professor tell the class one night that the lottery was a tax on people who were bad at math.

Here`s one for ya`.

Watched a CCI stinger 22 LR 375 round "value" pack go for $455 on Gunbroker the other day.

Sorry. I`m tired. Don`t want to figure up what that was per round.

.223 would seem to be more economical....... Edited by TN Volunteer

1. price gouging - pricing above the market price when no alternative retailer is available
pricing - the evaluation of something in terms of its price

This really only pertains to situations like Katrina where people were taking advantage of their neighbors for gas and bottled water (necessary supplies that were unobtanium but required to live).

this high priced ammo and guns on TGO and elsewhere isnt gouging...its just people with too much money, too little common sense, a lack of memory in relation to the last election, and zero preparedness(not unlike the people that buy up all the bread and milk anytime it might snow the night of) willing to spend obscene amounts for stuff that they really don't have to have at the moment and if their willing to pay the price why should I or anyone feel bad?

Would it make me a jackass to post my estate auction bought, near stock, 10/22 carbine on there for $500, just to see if anyone is stupid enough to buy it? I mean seriously if someone's really that dumb, would it be bad? Anyone with any sense at all wouldn't buy it and stupid people play the lottery and waste money on other stuff and it's ok, it's just a "stupid tax." Then again I think maybe someone that dumb shouldn't own guns although idiots have rights too. Of course probably only the ATF would pay that for one. And I don't want to sell it because, even being pretty much all stock, it's squirell strychnine.

No.  It would make you a capitalist.

I learned, many years ago, to never put a price on a horse unless you are ready to sell him.  Seems like it has gotten that way with guns and ammo.  Don't price 'em unless you are ready to let 'em go because someone will more than likely take you up on it.

It's price gouging to me as long as all the tw.at waffles that keep snatching up all the reasonably priced ammo (or anything else for that matter) and then immediately trying to flip it for double or more what they just paid for it.  I was in store the other day and some lovely individual was trying to sell his overly priced .22lr to people that was in the aisle, the same .22lr he bought there a few hours before.  He was escorted out shortly after.

Can we put a moratorium on defining the term "price gouging" or at least just agree that "price gouging" and "free market" are interchangeable terms until this current round of douchebaggery is over.

Douchebaggery is a good term to compromise between the two previous terms.

Friend bought his son a .22 bolt action for Christmas, and a box of cartridges.  I let him have two 325 Value packs till he can replace them so the boy can shoot some with his new rifle.  Have not shot any of my Wolf since the run started, afraid I will not be able to replace it and I have squirrels to harvest...

Picked up a 325 rd pack of Federal for $25 at the Lebanon gun store. I pass by everyday so figured I'd walk in. The guy was limiting 1 box per customer. Some douchey guy walked in and was complaining bc he wanted to buy all 10 boxes but the store owner would only let him buy one box so every customer had the chance to buy some. He kept whining about not finding any at any store. I wanted to pipe in and say yeah bc douches like you go in and buy everything is why you can't find anything.
