Any more folks? This will be a very quick and painless session for anyone who is considering joining the club. Please come out and support TGO and OHGC.

Even if you are not going for orientation, a show of support by TGO folks that are already OHGC members would really help as they have set up this session just for us and have been so gracious to let us use their facility for eat and shoots and cookouts etc.

Sorry to pester, but I will be really embarassed if only 3 of us show up after having all the requests to set this thing up. :koolaid:

This is a bad week for me but I'm trying to work it out, I'll know more tomorrow.

What is the membership fee?

Might not hurt if this was a sticky on the home page, I'm sure a lot of people are just missing it.

I was under the impression that this was going to happen the day of the meet, before the shooting started. I'll be at work at 6:30 on Wednesday, sorry for the confusion.

I'm gonna try if I'm feeling up to it. I'm still in recovery from surgery, and not getting around 100 % just yet.

This isn't looking very good, but there's a 99% chance that I'll make it. I have a friend who lives less that 1 mile from Owl Hollow, and he'd like to come as well. It's probably a bit too far for me to join as a member, but there's a good chance my friend will.

Hey Hunter, can we come earlier and shoot a little before the orientation since we may not get to shoot afterwards?

I take back the above statement. I just talked with my boss, and he informed me that another driver has already requested to have the day off. I'm going to call the 3rd shift manager later this evening. He may be able to work something out.

Hunter,

Is this orientation give you the option of joining? If so what is the cost? I am actually off Wednesdays and would love to have another place to shoot if it is possible. However Wed is also "family dinner night" and if its not a chance to join I think I should go to Memaws to eat some southern cookin instead ;-D

the orientation is the briefing you get before joining. where you sign the paperwork and such. its in middle tennessee though.

to answer the questions:

yes, lets definately go earlier to shoot some! :D

And this orientation is required before you can join. The cost is $50 a year and your spouse and kids (under 18) can come with you free any time. This orientation was set up for TGO specificlly so we can get the quick orientation completed and get everyone joined that evening. I encourage anyone to come as the regular orientations are becomeing more rare and take a lot longer than this one will.

Hope to see you all there. What time did you want to get out there Brian?? (or anyone else for that matter?)

It looks like I'm riding with Tungsten, so it'll be 6:30 I suppose. If I drive myself, I'll be there around 5:30.

I just discovered this thread, so count me in.

I might bring a guy from work also. I'd say 50/50 on his coming with me.

Call or text me if you think you might be there at 5:30, otherwise I will plan on being out there at 6:15ish.

Thanks for coming everyone!!! :hiding:

A big thank you to everyone that came out tonight. Great to have such support for the growing TGO and Owl Hollow relationship. Big props to Brian for coming right off a surgery, you are a stud!:woohoo:

Nice to see new folks including Bill and Buzz, as well as Daniel, Brian, Sandy, and David. (sorry if you were there and I missed you.)

Sorry for my crappy instruction giving, I had no idea he was going to ask me to lead part of the session. I would have studied. :)

Really wanted to make this, but didn't get off work in time.

Need another one soon!

Hunter,

Thanks for getting that thing off the ground. Now, I've got a place to go shoot anytime I feel like driving out there. I don't have to deal with the Range Nazis at some of the other local outdoor ranges.

I just want to say that Hunter kept me there past dark after everyone else had left and then tried to take advantage of me.

;)

Thanks for organizing this for us! It was much more convenient than a Monday morning orientation setting would have been.

If we had a range near Memphis that was only $50 a year to shoot all you want I would be all over that like flies on crap. Since the only "local" range that I know of is the MSSA and they charge $200+ and a large "initiation" fee and require a background check and require membership in the NRA (don't blast me I am already a lifetime member.) I can't "afford" to join them AND still have money to shoot with.

Sorry I couldn't make it. I am still in the hayfields. I have to help my neighbors get theirs up as they helped me get mine up when I was out of commission for a year,

Will we be able to do orientation on Saturday a.m.? If not,I will try to make the next one so I will be better prepared for the next TFO meeting.

I was a member about 4-5 years ago until we bought our farm.

I am afraid that we can;t do another orientation on Sat. It took some doing to get the session on Wed. in place. Sorry about that. There are sessions at least once a month. check with their website. www.owlhollowgunclub.org
