New York's tough gun law needs exemption for movies

"We spend a lot of money in the state bringing movie production here ... so obviously we would want to facilitate that," said Gov. Andrew Cuomo. While movie and TV producers could use fake guns that wouldn't be subject to the new law, Cuomo said the industry wants "certainty." The revised law would allow them to use real weapons without real ammunition.

"There's no reason not to make a change like that to give an industry comfort, especially when it's an industry we want to do business in the state," said the governor.

constitutionality? they tax the rich so heavily that less & less film production will occur there anyways, just like CA.

Oh I see if you have money and some body or higher up its ok to have real guns , so lets jest change the law of that what we want, doesn't matter what the citizens want, you still have to abide by what we told you to do, we do not have to follow those laws ,we should only catter to the elite huh . And what benefits us. What a game and the webs we weave.

So, one theory among the conservative side is that the unusual rise in gun violence over the last decade has been because of movies glorifying the use of guns. Of course the Left says "no way, it has nothing to do with it". Certainly they are protecting their own as most of Hollywood is far left. So, not only do they completely reject the idea that Hollywood could be a contributing factor, they double down and encourage even more movie making, making it easier to film these movies in a state that outlaws the use of the same guns they are glorifying.

Illegal should be illegal. Why is the idea of zero tolerence with guns OK to suspend a kindergartner who uses a stick on the playground and pretends its a gun, but Hollywood gets a free pass to be exempt from actual laws?

well then they will glorify the director and actors holding the guns, give them an award and make a p.s.a. with same said actor telling you guns are bad, give em up. usual liberal statist crony hypocrisy.
