What brands are you buying?

Recommended Posts

Since ammo is so scarce, I was wondering what off brands are you guys buying?  I've seen Freedom Arms (remanufactured) Federal Estate, PMC, RWS, Armscorp, Prvi Partizan (whatever that is...) to name just a few brands I've never used that are out there.  The old staple bulk ammos like Winchester, Remington, and the like are harder to find.

From what I've seen, Hipower, the PMC Bronze goes really quick when a website has some.  Must be pretty good.  I've noticed that some of the brands are slow moving.  I guess I'll try some PMC Bronze next time I run across some.

Reed1285.....If you shoot some and get time, let me know how the independence works out.  I have seen some of that but was not sure about buying any.

I've heard some people downing the PMC line, but I have to say that I'm real fond of it. Korean made if I remember correctly, but I have had PMC in 45acp, 9mm, and 5.56. All have been pretty clean burning and seemingly consistant for me. I do really like the 9mm best though.

whatever I can find.   I have 4 brands of powder now, at least 4 brands of primers.  Only 22 I ever see is gold painted junk, got ONE 100 pack of CCI pricy stuff.  Found 1 box of 9mm WWB a while ago.

At this point, if it has a brass case and is under $20 per 50 in centerfire, I will take it, or under $30 for 500+ 22.   Jack it more than this, and I will let it sit.

Agreed. I'd love to have some more .22, but not willing to go for the 50+ on 500 rd bricks. Still have a lot of old, and I mean old(60's/70's) remington and winchester from my dad's shooting days. Probably 1000+ rounds, and I take those out when shooting 22. I'd like to have a case or so, of some CCI minimags and Stingers, but not at current prices.

I've bought some of the Monarch Prvi Partizan .223 at Academy and I like it. It shoots really good outta my rifle. On a side note i refer to it as Perv Party.

I still ain't gonna buy Remington Gold .22, that stuff sucks. I'd rather run out or pay high prices for something that works. Edited by JWC

I found some Estate .45acp today at some hole in the wall online and ordered 200 rounds.  Brass, FMJ. It had some good reviews. My Glock 30 has been begging to go to the range.  Guess I'll see how it likes the Estate.

Thanks for all the info.  I almost bought some of the Prvi yesterday, but let it get away while trying to make up my mind.
