Growing bamboo in middle Tennessee?

Why on earth would you think it's acceptable to plant bamboo on property that doesn't belong to you?

Bamboo is a non-native invasive species in all forms and strains. To say its not your problem when you move is the midset that has us in the spot we are with invasives. It's all our job to help control this. I wouldn't plant kudzu or alanthis, or multi floral rose or japanese privet, and I wouldn't plant bamboo.

Literally every single person I've known who has planted it has regretted it later. And you better like it, because getting rid of it is nearly impossible. I love the look of it, but wouldn't consider it after every single person has told me how much they wish they'd not done it.

It's scrub ground with  a lot of bad, weak trees that keep falling. I have already had permission from management totake out about 6 trees over the 13 years that I've been here. They need something to hold the bank there so it doesn't slide down the hill onto their buildings. I'm only talking about maybe 1 ft across the line and if I put in clumping bamboo that would be perfect. Thats probably 30 ft from any useable land on their side. If you could see what I'm talking about you would understand that is not going to be a problem. Now if it were the running bamboo then thats a whole nuther story!

I thought about it once, after seeing it at the biltmore.  I said something about it to mom and she strongly encouraged me not to plant it. 

At this point I am glad I didn't.
