The wait begins

Did my appilcation and fingerprints for my carry permit now the wait begins.

I was told that it is a 60 to 90 day wait now.

I regret that it took me so long to get it done, but hard to do with out the money.

Congratulations on getting it sent in. My friend in Knoxville just got his back in one month and one day...so you might be pleasantly surprised if that is a good indicator.

Congrats! You can get a lot of training done in sixty days. Practice your draw with different clothes and get to the range for drills as often as you can afford.

Good on you for taking your safety into your own hands.

Congratulations! Its a good feeling, even though it feels like it will take forever. As soon as you forget about it, it will be there ha ha

cool to know that it may not be as long.

I have been dry practicing at home and wearing it around the house with different shirts and pants combos.

I guess I will jsut get it when I get it.

I used to wear one every day at a job, it was located in a bad part of town. Plus we worked with firearms so it was a security issue.

The marksmanship portion is the easy part. When I took my class the instructor told me to stop shooting such a small group.

I always finished the course of fire first and had the best hits.

The mindset portion is the part I have been trying to live since I took a class from Jeff Cooper back in the 90's.

When I am not at home I try to live in "yellow"

Word of advice. If you have already bought a holster for what you will carry strap that baby on and break it in / get used to it. It really helps with the transition from not carrying to carrying. Especially if you carry IWB.

Edit: Just though I should clarify you will not carry the gun when doing this haha. :pleased:

I submitted all my paperwork and fingerprints on Feb 14 and am waiting anxiously!

11 weeks down here - :(

Call the Department of Safety and inquire.  All you need is your TN Driver license number and they can tell you the status.

Exactly. Although there has been a large surge in applications over the last few months, you are nearing the end of a 90-day window. The average turnaround over the last year or so has been 6 weeks tops, with most coming in around 3-4 weeks. I'd call and check the status.

I have been in contact with them weekly. There were fingerprint issues. I am missing a finger and that must have threw a loop. I've been fingerprinted twice. They said today they have received them. We will see where it goes now. I know I have gone above and beyond trying to resolve this issue.

I sent in my prints and paperwork on 02/14 and today I called the DOS for a status. They said it was issued 03/6 and will be here 7-14 days from that date. Gettin' excited!!
