Okay, I know I have no life. No big secret here.

But where the heck is everyone? This place is extra dead tonight.

Was at the Kentucky Oaks Mall doing some shopping. Wife needed to go out there and pick up some new/different shoes for work, and gave us an excuse to pawn the kids off on the grandparents for an hr or two and get a break. :D

Now I'm back home, sitting on the internet, bored with you. Waiting on SteakOut to deliver our food, and playing with my AR upper parts. Mailman delivered my 10.5" barrel and other assorted goodies today, so test-fitting them all together.

I'm here with ya, Mike. The wife is with her Mom, and they're doing some interior painting. I might see her Monday afternoon.:D

We are getting some great rain right now.

Yeah, pretty big/bad thunder storm blew through here an hour or so ago. Was hell trying to see while driving back in from the mall. It's just drizzling and crappy out now.

I'm looking at Magiccarpetrides's online inventory for a good first car. And Carmax.

But I need a job first. Working on that.

Cars for teen drivers - from Consumer Reports

Find a suitable vehicle for your young motorists

When buying a vehicle, safety and reliability are important considerations, especially if it’s for a young driver, since they usually do not have a lot of driving experience or money. When shopping for a car for that young driver, look for ones with advanced safety features and good crash-test results. Generally speaking, bigger and heavier vehicles perform better in crash tests. But larger vehicles can have unwieldy handling and offer poor fuel economy.

Large pickups and SUVs are not recommended for young, inexperienced drivers because their high centers of gravity make them more prone to roll over than other vehicles. Sports cars are also a poor choice for young drivers. They beg to be driven too fast and have a higher rate of accidents than other cars.

Acura RSXMazda 3 (with side airbags)Acura TSXMercury MilanFord Focus sedan (2003 or later)Pontiac Vibe (2006 or later)Ford FusionScion tCHonda Accord (4-cyl.)Subaru Impreza (not WRX)Honda CR-V EXSubaru ForesterHonda Civic EXToyota Camry (4-cyl.)Honda FitToyota CorollaHyundai Sonata (4-cyl., 2006 or later)Toyota Matrix (2006 or later)Hyundai TucsonToyota PriusKia Optima (2006 or later)Toyota RAV4 (2001 or later, non-3rd row)

In the list above, we’ve identified vehicles that Consumer Reports has tested that we think are appropriate for young drivers. The list is based on our test results, and government and insurance-industry crash-test results.

I am so bored I just pulled the .357 rounds out of my revolver and polished them.

I wipe all of the bullet portion of mine down with bacon or sausage. :D

Mike, with fuel costs the way they are, the correct term would be, conserving

LOL, I'm so exciting that I'm surfing TGO and checking weather for tomorrow, which should be more interesting. If no rain, we go to the lake. If it rains, I'll go ride motorcycles with some IDPA knuckleheads I shoot with. Nobody ever accused me of being a genius.

I'm currently stuck between a $2,700 Crown Victorian from the Knoxville PD with 89k miles, or a $5,495 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4x4 with 119k miles on it.

I like the better gas and price in the Crown Vic, but I would need the extra space of the Jeep (and the off-road capability is nice if ever needed)

GO with the Jeep. You know how those () LEO's drive their patrol cars. That 89K miles is more like 289K after they get done with them.:)

Let's not forget that you have to pay IN FULL for the Crown Vic* within ten days of winning the auction, and I can finance the Jeep.

I'll have to buy a jerry can or two and a nozzle (need to?) to keep some extra gas on hand.

*The minimum bid was $2,700, though the current bid was $2,600 and the bid increment was $100, with 16 days left on the auction.

I like my bacon or sausage too much to waste any of it

The jeep, if it as the 4.0L 6 cyl, it is barely broken in. My advice is go with the Jeep.

Who's wasting? You batter dip the bacon, afterwards, and fry it up. The gunpowder and oil just add flava'. :)

+1 on the Jeep.

*tries to count* Grand total of around 12 for the Jeep, and 2 for a Ford ZX2 Escort (mother and grandmother, ignoring the fact it's a sport car and going for it's Miles Per Gallon and also disregarding the smaller amount of storage space)

You can't do this in a Ford Escort!

Disclaimer: That is not my Jeep, I yanked the pic off of the interweb.

Can't do that in a STOCK Jeep either, but you can get pretty damn close.

EDIT: I can fit more guns in the back, too!
