Has anyone heard this rumor?  I heard they are gonna close or are in the process.  I don't want to spread rumors, but I heard it from a guy that shoots up there a LOT.....I haven't been in a few months due to work, but I sure did like their skeet range and sporting clays.

do they have a rifle range or is it just skeet clay shooting?

i think they have a pistol range, pretty sure no rifle range. I may be wrong on that though. Ive only ever shot skeet up there so maybe some of these other guys will know for sure

My Dad shoots up there 2-4 times a month. He hasn't said anything, but I'll ask him.

I sure hope its false. Craig and Dawn are good people. Its a really good place to shoot Skeet our sporting Clays.

Just talked to my Dad. Seems they have gone into foreclosure. Sad news as Craig and Dawn are great people and the lawsuit they went through to keep that place open likely was too much for them.

any update on this? I tried calling them myself so i could hear it with my own ears, but nobody answered and the answering machine message said they were open Fri-Sun then stated the hours for each day.

Please do! because ive got a dedicated skeet gun and if they are indeed closing im gonna trade it for somthing i will use, a skeet gun is no good without somewhere to shoot it

It's shotgun only.  Skeet, Sporting Clays, 5 stand, trap......I think that's it.  I've never seen anyone up there with anything other than a shotgun. They have a area for patterning your shot gun though off to the side.

We've still got Benton's in driving distance.

I've shot at Bentons.  It's about a little over an hour for me.  They have a good sporting clays, but no skeet.  That is unless they put one in?

I just got back. If they're going out of business it sure seemed like nobody told them. I know they're still hurting from their lengthy legal battles but the place was packed today.

Bought a year's membership the first week of January at Montlake.   Craig and Dawn are fine people.  As said above have Sporting Clays, 5-Stand, Trap and Skeet.  No pistol or rifle ranges.  I believe Carl Poston had pistol and rifle ranges but they became too much of a pain to operate.  Benton has a nice Sporting course but the stations are very crowded (you will be shooting on one station and a clay will come over from another station).  Benton does have a great 5-Stand set-up.  Elevated shooting area that is covered with benches and has overhead fans for the summer.  No trap or skeet at Benton.  I hope Montlake stays open as they are a big supporter of the Soddy Daisy High School skeet program.
