Students Essay Rejected, It Was About Guns

I found this article on TTAG.  I normally chalk alot of this non-sense up to non-sense, however this made me just mad.  Its a strooy about a high school kid, was told to write an essay, any essay on any subject matter that applead to the student.  So the student wrote about a recent gun show visit.  The teacher refused to accept it and grade it.  Here is a brief story on this event:

good for the parent for standing up for her kid.  No telling how many other kids the teacher has stepped on to get his politics across.  She ought to go to the school board for more action.

A crying shame!! And that was in Texas I think they said..  I bet I could guess who he voted for.... The funny thing was when the teacher started crawfishing (walking backwards) when confronted by the mom.. And WOW what a mom!! Easy on the eyes and likes guns..

In Comp I I wrote my research paper on assault rifles and whether the public should be allowed to own them. My professor graded it and I received a decent grade. However, she left a comment very similar to this on it, "You make some very good points here. However, the question is whether or not the founding fathers foresaw guns advancing to the level that they have now,". I left it at that and didn't contest anything. I figured she was more than set in her ways, and I mine. I wish I could find that research paper...

If this had been a teacher rejecting a paper about gay rights, communism, or racism, the teacher would have already been fired and stoned in the city's town square.

times have certainly changed.  When I was in 7th grade, my science fair project was on bullet penetration.  I shot a bunch of calibers and different bullet types into a block of nailed together pieces of plywood.  I had the recovered slugs on my presentation board.  I can't imagine the s*&%-storm that would result from that today.

 

Come to think of it, in 2nd grade we had to do a project on Indians.  For that, my dad and I made a pretty authentic (and functional) bow and arrow.  They'd probably throw a 7 year old in jail for bringing something like that to school now.

Public schools are not about education but rather indoctrination. This is were the liberals have out smarted those with conservative values. The liberals know that what they want in society cannot be gotten through reasoned discourse so since the 70's they have focused on the education system. As you indoctrinate the young minds each following generation will have a more liberal way of thinking. Just look at all the social issues facing us today and we see none of them became a problem over night. Look at the make up and history of the teachers union and it becomes easy to see why public schools are where they are. I know there are the occasional conservative teachers out there and I applauded them for hanging in there. I firmly believe that the real battle ground for our country is taking back the minds of our youth. This teacher cared nothing about sentence structure but only about ideology. It is good to see these two young men and the mother take a stand a say NO!

Agreeing with glock 55, why in the hel_ is the US government allowed to dictate what my child learns in school?? (are we really free) ,,  sounding like issues that have been addressed in the past?? Lets say 1919 when Hitle... Never mind, I will end up in a cussing tirade that would get me baned from TGO.. Sorry but this issue really burns my as_ (BUTT)!!!!!!
