Ruger's Bisley Vaquero.

I'm really liking this Bisley Vaquero .357. The hammer spur is lowered for easy access, it has a wide "target" trigger that is light and smooth and it has the Bisley grip, developed by Colt. The fixed sights are outstanding, offering an excellent sight picture. I was shooting WWB 110gr .357 JHPs today. I don't really like the 110gr load but that's what I had. I preffer a 158gr for target shooting and 125 JHPs for social work.

That's a beautiful gun, man. Wow. How's the recoil? I've got a .357 Blackhawk and I can tolerate it well, but I've heard that a bisley-style grip reduces the recoil a little bit.

The recoil is not an issue. It's not bad even with hot Black Hills or Buffalo Bore ammo.  Sometimes the pistol gets so hot that you burn your fingers unloading and reloading.

You can iron your shirts with it.  38 special just goes POOF. No recoil at all.

We've got several of his brothers in 45 colt and a couple in 44 special.  I like the way they handle; especially the hammer spur.

They are a great thing.

Have fun and thanks for posting the pictures.

I have a Ruger Stainless Super Blackhawk that has been rebuilt.  It now has a five inch barrel with Keith type front sight, a Bisley hammer, Bisley trigger, Bisley gripframe and Belt Mountain base pin.  The Belt Mountain base pin really tightens up the cylinder slop in these pistols and doesn't back out under recoil like the stock base pin when using heavy handloads.  I have shot 325 grain LBT design cast bullets from this gun.  It will penetrate 12 inches of seasoned oak.  It has the additional advantage of adjustable sights.

I love my SS .44mag vaquero. Trigger and accuracy are amazing.

All of the single action pistol conneseurs that have tried it think that's it's a custom job. They are shocked to hear it was a ~$500 rack model

I have always said my collection would not be complete without one of these. I want one in 45 colt
