Many things make it special. It's a Mosin made under contract for the Russians by a US company. It has no import marks. Now the OP says it was apparently acquired by Finland at some point, so I'm sure it has an upgraded barrel.......I'm sure there is more. I'm no expert, but based on what I've read and heard from Mosin experts, this rifle is probably worth a good chunk of change.

No upgraded barrel, as NEW barrel markings are on it.  M91's rebarreled by the Finns would have a later dated barrel, w/ Tikka or some other markings. The Finns used most of their captured/purchased Mosins "as is", only replacing parts (including barrels) as needed.  Is that a one piece stock I see, w/o the handguard?  My screen resolution is not the best.  Nice rifle!

 ...I knew that, but in my rush to state some of the things that made this Mosin special, I lost my train of thought...that's why I said I was no expert.

Man, thats nice. Congratulations on a good find. I've never seen a Westinghouse. What other companies made the U.S. contract Mosin?

Remington was the only other one.

Thanks Garufa. I worked with a guy that said he had  a Remington for a while but, sold it about 10 years ago. I was pretty sure that Rem. made them too. I asked him if it had been messed with, and he said it hadn't. I was like wow!
