I have a new place to shoot :-)

Just got off the phone with my sister, who lives in Kingston.  Apparently, since they do not live here in West Knoxville like me, they can shoot all they want in their large back yard, or across the street at a neighbor's who has a nice collection of firearms.

 

I might go through a couple boxes of my 9mm  and some 12 gauge to break in my new Remington 870 Express.

 

No more $10 Coal Creek Armory charges for me  :woohoo:

That is one thing about I miss about Colorado, there was a place you could go in the mountains you could shoot all day long until you ran out of ammo.

I have 50 yards at my house which is plenty for what I do most days. It isn't as long as I would like but being able to walk out and shoot is worth it, especially when working up handloads. There were times when I would sit on the couch in my living room and shoot groups out the front door.

 

I do have a few friends that have ranges out past 200 yards. I am looking for land now to get some extra distance.

Wife and I are way over do on buying a larger house, 2013 may be the year of the big buy.  One of the stipulations I have (which isn't many), must have a location and acerage that I can shoot and pee outside.  Love to have  a similiar setup like Hickok45.  Nothing fancy, doesn't have to be flat, but just the abilty and no complaining neighbors.

A former coworker's Dad would deer hunt from the kitchen table.  Their back door opened to the corn field behind the house.  He could only get away with it when his wife was out shopping.

its not the state, its the cities.   Get away from the population centers and you can do that in MOST of TN, and that is true in most states as well.  I would love to buy a cruddy piece of land that I could take it to 500 yards or so, but land outside a big city.... well everyone else already had that idea and its pricy.

I gave up my house where I could shoot when I got married in November.  We just bought another house but I can't shoot there either.  The plan is to stay in that house for 2 years sell it, then buy what we really want.  The location was good on this house and it was a foreclosure, we are hoping to turn a nice profit on it and have a hefty down payment on our "dream home" which will have a nice sized garage, a gun range, and whatever she wants.
