What's your bug out vehicle?

I don't plan on bugging out.  I already live rural so where the heck would I go?  Instead, I'll just sit outside with a shotgun and yell at all the 'urban commandos' who think that rural areas will just be wide open and waiting for them to get the hell out of my yard.

For just general tooling around after the 'pocalypse, though, if my '01 Dodge 4X4 pickup won't cut it then this little fellah should get the job done (these pics were taken back before the $&^% closed the trails at Tellico - I never did any of the really hard trails because I can't afford to fix crap that I tore up 'on purpose' but the one or two easiest trails were fun) :

My avatar is my bug out/bug in vehicle.  It is a 74 Bronco sitting on 33's.  I also have an off road trailer that it pulls nicely.

I'm more of a bug-in and defend...but if needed:

That's pretty nice. I always wanted a RTT, but never really had the need.

I got this from another forum member last week.  I am an avid outdoorsman and really needed something with cargo room and 4x4 that runs and drives.  So far, I have been very pleased.  1989 Mitsubishi Montero

Too pretty.

OK, so I had to test it out.

What good is a bug out vehicle without a reserve supply of fuel? If things are bad enough to bug out there won't be any fuel available except what you have stored or is already in your tank. How far are you guys planning to drive if you have to bug out? How much fuel do you keep on hand?

I'm more of a "bug in" type but I would still use my truck for an emergency escape once I'm bugged in.  So in my case we would pool together the fuel from gas cans we keep around and any vehicles and all that would go in my truck for an emergency escape.

Honestly, i dont see myself buggingout. my land cruiser doesn't go far on a tak of gas, so I keep a couple of cans and a pump handy. My fear is an unexpected release from ORNL or a failure of a TVA dam. Needless to say, I want to get out of the way of water and/or fall out.
