That was funny. He handled himself quite well it is a shame every one does not know enough about the law to be able to not get pushed around and intimidated.

He did that intentionally to elicit a response from the police, ya know, because there is an expectation for the police to respond to a person walking around with a gun in their hand. The fact that he is quoting some obscure law from over 100 years ago hardly makes him a freedom fighter. The police acted reasonably for a MWG call.

I could get in a speedo, cover myself with cooking oil and go running through the parks of Belle Meade screaming "I'm a pretty pony!", and none of that is illegal, but law enforcement are still going to investigate, because that ain't normal. Somebody conducting themselves like that just so they can get into a pissing match with police and show off their roadside lawyer skills is a douche of the highest order.

Ain't normal to who?  NOTHING is normal to the police.  EVERYTHING is under suspicion.  If you're not a cop you're the enemy.

I've been in every type of combat situation one can dream of. I've literally had former al Qaeda fighters all around me armed with RPGs, AKs and belt Feds machine guns, and I was calm and okay with it. However, if I saw a guy walking down the street with a gun in his hand I'm probably gonna call the cops, because that's an indicator he is up to no good. If it was holstered that would be one thing.

Just to put it in perspective, had this not been that particular model weapon would he have not been brandishing? Are cops supposed to know what a navy revolver looks like on sight or while driving past at 45 mph? How about the average citizen that isn't an expert in weapons identification?

Closest thing we have to "brandishing" law is aggravated assault. Dunno if that could stick as "assaulting" the general public.

Belle Meade did eventually did take specific action to drop that ordinance from its city code, btw.
