found what I think is an old wagon wheel.  Looks to be about 4 foot tall.  Looks like it was wood wrapped in metal.  ran out of time but I am going to run back and see if I can find the center piece.. it was about a foot and a half in the ground

using an old whites II sl.  It is a friends who just had it in a closet so I asked him if I could borrow. Would love to find something of worth so I can buy a newer nice one.

a friend and I recently went to an old early 1800 cabin in east williamson.  the cabin is still standing but about to get torn down because a road is going through there. we found some forks and knives, an old door lock and a bunch of tools and such.  kinda getting nerdy about this. Fun to find all this old stuff

At the very least, if you find nothing of value. You've possibly saved yourself some chipped mower blades :)

Metal detecting is soo much fun.. Husband and I go whenever he can handle a few hours outside... We really never found anything of supervalue( yet) but we are outside in the fresh air and we get to spend time together. We also have a  White`s Prizm II I think.. they are really decent for the price. Next thing on our list is panning for gold

I had to buy a metal detector after my roof was replaced. The contractor did a poor job cleaning up nails. Told the wife it was cheaper to buy a metal detector than replacing lawn mower tires and ER bills from the kids stepping on nails. Found close to 1 lb of nails, and few weird metal objects, nothing valuable. No ER visits.

BTW cool find!

Nice find! I love getting out with my Garrett. My property is in the same nieghborhood as a couple of CW battles. I have found some vry cool stuff. Out of a 187 acres, I've only covered about 1/4th an acre. There are a couple old home sites there that I haven't even touched. I have found some horse shoes, old fork, old spoon, grape shot ball and numerous other cool items. It's a great hobby to have and can be rewarding. I found a nice silver ring with a diamond in it, but have yet to have it appraised. Watch out for POISON IVY...don't ask me how I know that!
