Presidential knife fight

To be at all fair, one might have to hold the match when both men are about the same age. One BadA$$ prez fairly young middle age, versus another who has one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel before he ever attained the presidency-- No fair at all.

So one might revive the fellers from the dead for battle, at matching young ages before any actually became presidents. Or perhaps more interesting-- Maybe matched-age geezer fights would engender the same sick fascination as mud wrestling, cripple fights or nerd fights. :)

Dwight age-matched against Teddy or Andrew would be interesting. Dwight was a smart cookie and most likely "better trained" than Teddy or Andrew, though lacking in as much real-world rough-housing practicum.

As far as I know the only two President's to have actually engaged in hand-to-hand personal combat are Jackson and Harrison.  Both were very physically strong and quick, a well as known for being aggressive.  Jackson nearly killed an attempted assassin with his cane.  Lincoln was known as very strong and wiry as well as a formidable grappling wrestler.

For a knife fight, I'd pick those three for the last ones standing.

But, in a melee of the sort proposed, any group that banded together would have a huge advantage.  Washington, Jefferson, Adams, and Monroe all knew and respected each other.  If they got together as a group early on, I believe that they could take on all of the rest.

We had a lot of Presidents who demonstrated physical courage.  It was an expected trait, along with personal integrity, until we got to Clinton.  speaking on Clinton, he is a sly, sneaky fellow who might survive a long time just by staying out of the way.  Obama would probably survive until someone felt that they had a free minute to get rid of him.  Certainly he would be no threat to anyone facing him as he would only sneak in when he could get a quick slash at someone without any risk to himself.

I'm going to disagree with you there. There were weasels long before Clinton's time. Woodrow Wilson is the first name that comes to mind. Carter and Nixon would have to be up there on the list as well. FDR surely wouldn't make my list as courageous or as having an excess of integrity either.

I would have to go with Teddy, if you have ever been out to the Badlands you would understand why.
