My Election, My Choice

I think Baldwin is a good choice for president. I am still debating on voting that ticket myself. Right now though the results are "too close" for me to say I will definitely vote Baldwin.

In order to get the "masses" out of the "two party" thinking you have to start LOCALLY!!! When the local election rolls around vote for the 3rd party member of your choice. This is the only way to get that party at the state level. Once there you can try to rally to get them to the national level in the congress. Once that is done then there might be a chance for a POTUS. But under the current system where the majority of the people only hear about the Democrat or Republican it is unlikely that a 3rd party will be elected.

Now with the internet touching more and more people on a daily basis that might change in the next 20 years.

I think you guys should listen to him. Don't the Masons decide who is going to be president anyways?

That is funny.

I am not part of the "Higher Up" Masons that all the conspiracy guys talk about. I am what they call a "Porch Mason". I am one who only believes that the 3rd degree is the highest a Mason can become. (The higher degress do not denote rank. They are just a numbering system for the appendent bodies.)

The "Illuminati" do not care about me. Or am I just saying that....:D

Thanks Brian..... I agree 100%, and I don't mind being on the Frontlines "throwing my votes away".

I agree with that Brian. Start on a local/state level and the more we can get in, the more influence they will have, the more credibility they will have.

All week on the conservative radio talk shows, locally and nationally, it has been mentioned in offhand comments that Obama will be the next POTUS. The voted most liberal Senator will be our POTUS, with the ability to appoint 2 new members to the SCOTUS. That is 2 new liberal judges. That scares the hell out of me, especially considering the latest 5-4 vote that just happened in regards to the 2nd amendment.

So in closing, I have not decided who I will vote for. I can 100% positively say that it will not be Barack Hussein Obama. I think a 3rd party is great for our country, especially since the Republican party and the Democratic Party seem to be in such shambles.

It's your vote, cast it however you please. In the end the POTUS will be Just Another Sleazy Politician. Just like the last one and the one before that and the one before that and the one before that and the ..

I am going to fix your above words......

Sorry, but your re-wording is just not correct.

It is not a "never" issue, it is a "this time, this situation, these facts" issue.

Me "feeling good" about who I voted for is all warm and fuzzy, but it doesn't help our country - so that means I need to make the decision that gets RESULTS for my view of the future of this country.

When the local election rolls around vote for the 3rd party member of your choice.

Well, at least that is a results based decision. The problem is - it ignores the actual results of the race itself, with the alternate goal being to enact a change in the system. Which might be acceptable for you - but it also might end up with you ignoring a *very* good R or D candidate that matches up better with your shared values - but you pass over *because* they are not a 3rd party.

Seems like a risk for a long term payoff that might screw you short term, and never get the long term payoff either.

And voting for a guy who is 95% evil over a guy who is 96% evil, isn't good for the country either. I don't trust McCain any more than I do Obama.

We all have to live with the person looking back at us in the mirror, so doing what you think is right, is very important.

So go ahead and vote for McCain so you can do your part to thwart the evil Obama, and I will vote for Baldwin, so I can do my part to thwart the evil McCain and Obama., and when the election is over and we are swearing in Barack in January, we both can hang our heads and cry.

A you familiar with Memphis politics???????

To have a 3rd party that means anything, you have to have a candidate with good ideas and charisma. If they have that, they will run for office in one of the two main parties.

DRM - I live in Memphis and I am Caucasian. The vote for any one that isn't an "African American" is essentially a waste of a vote for local/state level politics because typically they just don't win.

So, I will vote 3rd party and attempt to get as many people as I can to vote 3rd party to try to increase the representation and make the other parties think a second about their values.

Our current Mayor didn't have to do anything and he still won re-election even though the majority of the city voted AGAINST him. He won because the democrats couldn't put their differences aside and choose 1 candidate to unseat the mayor.

Makes me wonder what ever happened to Ross Perot? He was the last independent I can remember that even come close to making a decent showing in an election.--MP

I am afraid that vast portions of the country have slid into a 'tribal' voting mentality.

Its obvious mccain adapted gun control as part of his platform because he could garner more votes. Or change his image. What an *******.

The republican party will stroke gun owners (like a transsexual lot lizard) before this election is over. I bet they have an ad campaign planned.

I don't know if i'll vote this time.

I almost went and voted for bush just to get clinton out of there, and now i'm glad i didn't. What an idiot.

Face it, American people (as a whole) are retarded. That's how we continue to have elections in which we are all but forced to vote for Stupider or Stupiderest.

Government school education at its finest.

well, for what it's worth, I am neither democrat nor republican. while i share similar views with both the libertarian and constitutional parties, I can't make a clear distinction as to which ( if either) I would claim as "my party".

as for my vote, it'll be a cold day in hell before I vote for obam's socialism, or McCains elitism. Bob Barr is only a libertarian because they were the only party to consider nominating him , and unfortunately Dr. Paul has declined to run for a third party nomination. I guess it will be Baldwin '08 for me as well.
