carrying to a racetrack ?

I'm going to a dirt track racing event this weekend i was wanting to know can i carry there i was told they sell beer but we are outside

The T.C.A. says:

(a) It is an offense for a person to possess a firearm within the confines of a building open to the public where liquor, wine or other alcoholic beverages, as defined in § 57-3-101(a)(1)(A), or beer, as defined in § 57-6-102(1), are served for on premises consumption.

They say 'building' (as in, something with walls and a roof), not 'structure' or 'premesis'... so it would seem to me that an open-air race-track would obviously not be a building.

That's how I've always treated it.
