New Member in Smyrna

Hello everyone my name is Von Richcreek. I live in Smyrna, TN with my wife and daughter and I am a Realtor with Crye-Leike, Realtors. I am an avid gun enthusiast looking to get into competitive pistol shooting. I spent about 5 years in the Marine Corps as an Infantryman so I am no stranger to guns. I use to shoot Trap competitively when I was in High School, but that was years ago and I don't get to shoot my shotguns as often anymore. I'm looking for a community like this to help get me going in the competitive shooting world because while I am no stranger to guns, competition shooting is a new arena for me. 

 

I'm interested in IDPA, but I'd like to hear all about what other options are out there. I had a Springfield XDM .40, but unfortunately the gun and I just didn't work well together, so I will be shooting my new Beretta PX4 Storm 9mm. Any help, thoughts, advice, and encouragement would be greatly appreciated. I've always found that I tend to stay more involved with my hobbies when I have someone to share them with.

Hey rugerla1 where is the closest and cheapest place to shoot around Smyrna? I know of a couple of places, but I'm sure there are some more elusive locations hiding from me.

I go to OK Corral in Woodbury, State range on Hobson Pike and CHMR which is in Thompson Station/Bethesda area.

Thanks for adding the correct name. I had writer's block and I usually just call it "the gun range on Hobson Pike" lol It's not my favorite range of them but close, and cheap!

If you get a chance come up to Montgomery county to the MCSC range. Very nice TWRA range and bigger than the Hobson Pike one and a little less controlling.
