Cleveland gun shops

I'll be in the Cleveland TN area the next couple of days and might have a few hours to burn. Can anyone recommend a gun shop in the area? I've been searching the site and found the name Gun Slingers. Is it still around?

The two I've ever purchased anything from here in Cleveland is Posey gun and pawn and volunteer ordinance works. Posting from my phone or I'd throw up the addresses. Probably easy to find with Google though :-) I know VOW has a website.

I think gun slingers is the one down from the Y? I don't remember the street name. I'm sure someone can provide more information than me. Edited by Spank

I give up on trying to edit my post.

Address for Posey
2538 Keith St NW, Cleveland, TN

It's just a short drive past Krystals

Vow
2160 S Lee Hwy, Cleveland, TN

I like dealing with vow. They're close by and nice folks.

Have only been by Posey's twice but they seem nice enough and had a nice selection last time I was by.

Giving up on trying to write more. Phone driving me nuts

Posey's had tons of guns in stock today. I even saw two synthetic 10/22's on the rack. Great selection and my favorite place to buy.

Volunteer Ordinance Works has a nice, new indoor range. I have also found 30 round Pmags and Glock 19 mags there recently. Their prices are a little higher but tolerable. Edited by Batman

I have actually bought some things at VOW before but I try not to go there at all. It is well known amongst law enforcement and the military that military and police are not welcome at VOW. At one time there was a little gun shop on spring place road about a mile from the bypass. I don't have a clue on the name.
One of the best shops in the area is Fugates about 20 miles north on hwy 11 in Calhoun. Fugates is closed on Wed and Sundays. Edited by Patton

VOW has (or at least had, the last few times I stopped by to look) the highest prices around, although since the scare started Benton Shooters has done it's best to have the highest...

Truthfully, I try to avoid Cleveland and Cleveland buisness' when at all possible. I have had some bad experiences in Cleveland over the years. Also keep in mind there is an additional .25% or more sales tax.

Benton Shooters supply prices pre Obama and pre Sandy Hook were at the time competitive with today's prices elsewhere. I'm sure they have had an increase.

I went into Fugates in Calhoun for the first time years ago and I looked at a Keltec P32 for $259. They told me Benton's Shooter Supply had the same gun for $289. I laughed and said that I didn't believe that. I went to Benton's to see for myself. The same P-32 was $299 instead. I ended up finding out about Silvers who had new Keltecs for like $265 OTD(I think this is still his price). I have found some deals and have enjoyed shopping at Fugates though.
Fugates has one of the best deals around on NAA revolvers 199/Lr and 229/mag. Those NAA have went up in price drastically. I have been told by someone else that the dealers price is now more than what Fugates is selling them for.

Benton Shooters prices have gone from high to insane.  Pre-scare, they were never as high as VOW though.

Steve Silvers is the man and is great to deal with.

How did this information get out about military and law enforcement not being welcome? I've seen on the website that they offer discounts on some services for law and military. I've also seen LE in the shop, actually just on my last range visit too.

These seem contradictory? I'd love more information on this.

Has there ever been a smaller gun store than Fugates? Lol. God that sucker is tiny, can barely move around in there.

Spank, maybe things have changed but Fall of 2009 I was treated like crap when I was in there. I was not in uniform but it's pretty obvious that I am military and/or law enforcement. Some people just know I am police from seeing me before. I was in the Clevend National Guard unit and when I told one of the local Cleveland boys about my experience he said they have asked people to leave when they asked for a military discount.

Yes, the original Frontier Firearms was CRAZY small.

Silvers when hes open is great to deal with, (also extremely small) but will give some killer deals.  Gun Slingers are nice guys but they have ZERO inventory even before the craze.

vow has some of the highest prices around, even before the mess.  they do not to like leo's and military.  fugates is the best place to go.  they like leo's/miltary.  best prices around.   or you can go to chattanooga, several local shops and big box stores.  no ammo and not many guns and prices are so, so.

I really hate hearing that and I do hope things have changed for the better. I understand if a business can't offer a discount but they shouldn't send you out the door, especially a gun store. I would think they would make sure LE and military are taken care of. I hope someone else who is mil/LE can offer some more input on their experiences if they've been by lately.

I've heard about Silvers and Jonnin has mentioned his store a few times but I've just never made it by. It's just never knowing when he'll be open, closed, or the hours of operation that have prevented me from checking out what he has.

I just checked his website and saw he has an M&P22. I've been wanting to have a look at one... maybe I'll finally make myself stop by.

His hours are posted on his site.  His shop is small, but he has a very good inventory or at least had before the run.
