I found a MKIV Webley .38/200 that I'm interested in buying but I don't really know all that much about them.  It's in near perfect condition.

What arsenal markings should be there?  What should I look for to see if it has been refinished? Any issues with timing, endshake, or extractors?

I'm already setup to load .38S&W, so no issue there.

I can't help on your specific question but I had one many years ago and it was probably the most accurate revolver I have owned.  Wished I had it back many times.

The revolver should operate smoothly.  Double-action trigger pull is intentionally heavy.  Single-action should break pretty crisply, but don't expect it to be like a Colt Python.  To eject empty shells, push down on the barrel latch lever and open the action briskly.  Opening it very slowly may allow the cam to reset and the ejector star to drop before the shells are completely out.

With a bit of practice, you can eject the empties by pushing the top of the barrel against your right thigh as you operate the barrel latch with your right hand.  Your left hand should secure six new cartridges from your belt pouch and drop them into the chambers by feel as you stand erect and gaze coolly at your approaching enemies.
