Cool , kinda like the ole Tommy gun case eh ?

Guess so.  I've heard of guys using Guitar cases for rifles, so that it doesn't look like you're carrying a rifle around.  Thought a violin case would make sense for this.

Because it is supposedly too short to allow it to be shouldered.

Dolomite

Thanks for the answer. That makes sense.

Gotta put a plug in for oldhickorygunsmithing.com oldhickorygunsmithing@gmail.com.

He did the refinish on the Krink.  Liked it so much, I think I'll take my WASR in for the same treatment.

Here's the underfolder I wanted it to match.

Added the single point adapter and sling and introduced it to its "big" brother.

Threeeighty, nice improvement to both the wood and the pistol grip.

Do you know if he used linseed oil or urethane on your wood ? Edited by Threeeighty

I'm confused. If that's true, why is a mares leg still considered a pistol?

One of the key points with the legal issues is the "as is" factor.   When you buy a mare's leg, its sold to you AS a pistol, and if you do not fool with it, a pistol it will remain.  If you tear it apart you could make it into an SBR, for example seating it in a full sized stock probably would be a no-no.   SBR is a funky and stupid category.  The goal of the SBR laws was to prevent you from having a concealed rifle for gang type activity --- for example cutting the barrel off an AR for a short range blaster.   The result is that if you hang a stock on a glock, its now a rifle somehow and costs you 200 bucks --- even though the gun is now less concealable and no more dangerous than it was as a pistol.  Some argue that the stock makes it easier to use but I do not see it, maybe if they ripped the sears out so it went full auto until empty, but that is already illegal under another law so the SBR stuff is mostly just more idiotic regulations.

Finally got to take it out today.  Let each of the kids (sons and nephews) put a few rounds through it, too.
