As it reads,"as well as, holding the seller liable for damages if the gun is misused."Now this is the scary part,how can anyone be held liable for the improper use of any item that's been sold.Wouldn't this be the same as holding Ford Motor Company liable if someone was drunk and caused an accident.These lawmakers it seems have all started down a rabbit hole to Wonderland,it all seems to be getting more insane by the minute

Is there a provision to relieve the seller from this such as transferring the gun through an FFL?

"HB229: Requires background checks for the sale or transfer of a firearm
between two individuals, and makes violation of the law a misdemeanor,
as well as, holding the seller liable for damages if the gun is misused."

It sounds like if your in violation only.I am going to call Parker Brothers and pitch the LAME BLAME GAME idea,maybe I will get rich from residuals.I think the liability is just so there are some hooks in the law,A person may not want to sell a firearm to someone they really don't know that well without performing the check.

Since "SELLER" is not explained....could the FFL holder be considered the seller and not the manufacturer?  Or, maybe even both?
