Within this story is a good example of how quickly a bad guy can get to you. People need to train for the instinct of, shoot and don't stop until the bad guys are gone or can't leave. Don't just pull the trigger once, pull it multiple times, then determine if you need to pull it again.

 

I'm glad she and her son are okay but this could have gone really bad for her. People who have been victims like this woman are a good source of information. I wish there were some group that would interview these people a month or 2 later and get their thoughts on what they might wish they'd done differently. It would be helpful to know whether or not their experience has changed their practising or training in any way. That info could help us all.

Sounds like she will probably consider preparing for the next time it happens. She seemed aware of how it could have gone terribly

wrong. I liked her attitude.

Even when at home with my shotgun close at hand, I always keep an LCP (or something bigger) on my person. Don't want to be caught with my pants down (literally!) and my personal defense weapon in another room.
