Zoysia grass - anybody used it on their lawn?

Someone asked about Large Patch, treat it with a fungicide in the early spring and fall. To reduce the chances add very little supplemental Nitrogen. Honestly, of all turf grass, Zoysia needs less feeding than any of them. Keep a sharp blade on the mower, water sparingly, and rinse off the morning dew with the test cycle on your irrigation box.

Someone mentioned the look during the dormant season. I have had customers in the past with beautiful clean warm season lawns tell me the get more compliments about their lawn during the winter. A completely weed free dormant lawn looks great in the winter. If it is a mixed, patchy lawn it looks terrible.

I still generally recommend against zoysia, especially further north than Chattanooga. I normally recommend seeding Fescue or sodding Bermudagrass. Honestly though, the brown patch and drought is so hard on Fescue in S Tn that I recommend Bermudagrass when the light conditions are appropriate.
