looking at buying one.  what would be a resonable price on a mid 90s in overall good condition a very few rounds fired? thanks

If you can snag one for under $400, you've done well.  If the condition is really nice, I'd probably go up to $500, especially if it doesn't have that d@mned push-through safety!

Have to be made before 1988 for no safety. Marlin 39's seem to hold there value pretty well if it's in nice shape and you don't mind the crossbolt safety I would say low end 350 to as much as 500 or so. Really depends on how much you want it.

I bought a 1978 model in excellent shape with a really nice sling and a Simmons 3x9 scope for $300 FTF last summer.  For the year and condition I would say that was a really good price.  I took the scope off and put a peep on it.  I have a couple of other 39A's, all prior to 1980, and they all shoot great.
