4th of July Hero-Gear style

Recommended Posts

Posted

We spent the 4th of July out at Tims Ford Lake doing a bit of drinking, socializing, and solving the World's problems with some friends and family.

The City of Winchester always puts on a great fireworks display over the water, and by 6pm, the entire bay is filled with boats.

These pictures were taken pretty early in the day, as most of us were way to drunk to remember to take pictures by about 4pm :D

No kidding. I plan to buy a set.

We are meeting with our CNC guy in the next week.

Prototypes are complete, so its just a matter of me stroking a really big check to get the first run going.

ETA is 45-60 days if I had to guess.

For those not up to speed, we are getting ready to launch The Battle Mug.

Each mug starts as a 13lb. block of solid aluminum billet.

The billet is then CNC machined into what you see here, complete with mil-spec 1913 picatinny rails on 3 sides.

Once complete, they are shipped off to have USDA food grade anodizing applied.

Each mug will have a unique serial number, which will be stamped on the bottom of the mug.

Dude... I'm so in, for at least 2 of them if not more, assuming they don't run the same price as a complete upper and receiver. :leaving:

Tentative pricing?

Pricing is estimated at 299.00 each

Keep in mind, these are CNC'd from billet stock, and each will be serialized.

Not for the faint a heart (or checkbook) they were not conceived as nor will they be marketed as inexpensive or ordinary.

Sweet. Yeah, with the work and material, I didn't expect it to be under $200 at all. $299 still isn't bad for a totally custom, one-of-a-kind type of mug. You definitely won't see it anywhere else.

Can I attach a bi-pod, or two, for anti-spill capability? :leaving:

I will find the pictures, but we have added full kit to several.

Eotech, Surefire, etc.

You never know when you may need your trusty Battle Mug...

*we are also working on 1913 rail mounted accessories like: beer bottle opener, "beer goggles" and the "Double Tap" rail mounted shot glass for those days when its really bad!

Mark me down for one of the mugs if you get them produced!

Is it going to have a Hero Gear logo engraved on it or anything? Or just plain-jane black, with the etchings on the bottom?

This should invariably prompt Hero-Gear to begin brewing their own 'tactical' beer... (maybe call it 'Hero Beer'...?)

Free 6 pack with every mug purchase... hmmm...

That would so rock!

"Hero Gear Beer" should double as a weapon...smooth and delicious when drank and opened from the tab on top, but if you shake the can up and toss it; it explodes throwing vicious aluminum shrapnel in all directions for crowd control.

I still stand firm that this mug demands to be filled with mead. Hero Gear Mead. See, that has viking badassery written all over it.

Hero-Gear LLC is the distributor of The Battle Mug, but is a separate venture.

These are also made in the good ole U.S. of A :snore:

One of the things we will offer is engraving of service dates and or operations for an additional fee.

I think it will be cool to have all of the operations and conflicts a servicemember served in on his/her mug

Sigh

I was a member of "Waiting to Go" and "Don't want you Back".

Guess I'll pass on operations I was on and just get a set of Airborne Wings or something tacked on.

Sounds like my Christmas present is sitting as a block of billet somewhere!

Looks like you had a good time there.

Umm, here would be mine so far, 13 Jan 07 - 07 Jan 08, Camp Cupcake. Is that worthy of the all mighty battle mug?
