This is a 124 gr fmjbt 7.62x39 round, steel cased, russian fodder. Good review here:

http://www.surplusrifleforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=29617

Note: I believe the cases to be laquered and not poly coated as stated in the article above.

Fired 5 on a cold barrel, 16" ar, 1 in 10 twist, .310 bore:

1: 2372

2: 2376

3: 2393

4: 2364

5: 2372

avg: 2375

3 3 shot groups off the bench averaged 1/2" at 50 yards. At 200 I got around 4" for 8 shots. At 100 I strung em up the paper shooting too fast, but i think they "dun good". Once again, could ring the gong even standing sometimes at the 300 berm.

This is good stuff. I give it 5 mugs out of 5 at 20 cents a shot. Shoots as good as any ball ammo from anyplace. Can't hand load it that cheap. After 80 rounds of it I was ready to quit from the recoil. Shot some .308 too though.

------

For comparison, I clocked some 55gr plinking loads out of a 20" ar with hand measured powder and "pretty good" case prep. Remington cases. The bullets were very cheap, remington fmj no bt, medium crimp, CCI magnum primer:

1: 3174

2: 3205

3: 3189

4. 3182

5. 3189

hi: 3205

lo: 3174

avg: 3187

es: 31

sd:11

So, I can't hand load em as consistent as the tiger is, but it might be too close to call. Amazing for steel cased ammo. These .224 fmj's shoot maybe 2-2.5" 5 shot groups at 100 yards out of my nicer rifle. They do better at longer range than the tiger, but its pretty close.

Golden Tiger is about the only thing I shoot in 7.62x39mm anymore. I have shot thousands of rounds of it...it's "accurate" and I have never had a failure with it. I can't say that about Wolf.

BTW, it's usually cheaper than Wolf, too.

Also, I've done muzzle flash tests with a few 7.62x39mm loads and GT had the lowest flash among them.

I just picked up a case for $199 shipped off GunBroker. I'm hoping it is as good as everyone says it is.

My two favorites in 7.62x39mm is Golden Tiger or Barnaul's "Brown Bear."

I only shoot Barnaul, but I might have to get a case of GT to try.

Thats a pretty good deal. If you like it or hate it, post back your results. I think its best 7.62x39 ball running (in a .311 diameter).
