Carry gun

I got my permit so I could have a gun in my car. I'm just now looking into carry. been looking into carry options. My Makarovs and other eastern block pistols are too large. My Taurus 357 mag revolver is also too large. All lots of fun to shoot and good truck guns.

Down to Kel-Tec P9, P11, or the 380 P-3AT.

Any other sugestions,or thoughts on the Kel-Tec models?

I carry a p3at either as a bug or primary depending on my wardrobe. My wife carries a PF9 and loves it for it's small size and weight. Both guns work flawlessly. The Pf 9 will accept +p ammo which is a real plus for a 9mm. I would recommend them highly. They are a low cost carry option that gets the job done.

The glock 30 perhaps. I also have an Hk P2000 in .40 and it's a fine pistol, about the same size as the compact glocks.

If you're going with the KelTecs, I'd go with the PF9. Slim enough for pocket carry, but in a powerful enough caliber more suitable than .380 for self defense.

Hmmm, I don't see what's wrong with a 357 revolver if it's a 4" or shorter barrel.

Of those you mentioned I'd take a Kahr CW9. Yup, none of the Kel-Tec's work for me the grips are all too small. The Beretta Tomcat is about as small as I can go. FWIW, if I'm going to carry ONLY a pocket gu n, it's going to be a J frame or equiv Taurus.

of your choices i'd go with the pf9. had one and they are great little guns. send it to jack fuselier and he will nickle plate it for$30.

How the heck is a Mak too big?

Guess I'll have to continue experimenting. Mak in my pocket is very noticeable. I like to keep my shirt tucked in. Would like to carry a CZ52. But that's not a pocket gun either. So I want something that can easily be carried in my pocket. I'll try them out at Coal Creek first. Just to see If I can hit the target at 25 yards

I had a Kel-Tec P40 for the longest time. Sold it last fall. Although I read alot of posts and info about FTF and FTE isues with the .40, I only experienced them when I limp wristed it. (Which was easy to do with such a light weapon in .40, BTW)

We did have a friend of my wifes come to the house whos was leaving her husband (who was abusive) and was asking me about weapons to buy that were not too expensive. I showed her the P40. Showed her how easy it was to field strip, clean yada yada yada. She didn't seat the recoil spring completely when putting it together and the dang thing slipped off and dug into the frame. Made a huge gouge.

To Kel-Tec's credit, I sent it back and they replaced the recoil spring and frame with a new one and engraved my serial number into it. FREE!
