Time to get permit?

Has anyone applied for their handgun permit within the past couple months? I was wondering what the wait time is now.

In another thread, several of us reported that the turn-around for renewal of the HCP has been as short as two weeks.  If that's still the case, my renewal should arrive this week.

Took class on Dec 31st, did the Application at the DMV on Jan 16th, did the Fingerprints on Jan 22nd...still watching the mailbox but I don't really expect anything until April. If it comes earlier than that then I will be pleasantly surprised.

I have read the other thread also. I am just curious, my Son and I applied at the same time. He got his in 4 weeks, I am over 6 weeks and still waiting. We applied and did the fingerprints at the same time. I knew they were busy now but was wondering what kind of times others were experiencing through "the rush" not a couple years ago. I found a number for checking on the status in Tennessee (615... 251... 8590). It's been 30 days and I keep watching the mailbox! Called them and the nice lady took my driver's license information and looked me up in their system. She then told me they were a "little backed up" and that mine was still going through the background check process. I will continue to call weekly until I have it in hand. This wait is killing me!!

My wife got hers in the mail last week.  Took about 4 weeks.

The renewal form that they just mailed me said to expect  at least 90 days.
