Remington Sendero Butt Pad Removal

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have traded for a 700 Sendero in 25-06 . I have a very bad shoulder and want to install a recoil reducer in the stock . I have looked and see no holes where the butt pad was installed. I even looked with a magnifying glass .

Does the original attach with screws ? This is the one wirh the synthetic kevlar reinforced stock .

Would I be better off getting another stock from Boyd's and doing it with the recoil reducer?

 Thanks

If you have to do any drilling, filing, tapping, or refinishing I would get another stock. Kevlar is a great material for its intended applications, but a rifle stock is not one of those.

The sendero has an HS precision stock and the but pad is non removable. Any stock you swap out with that stock is going to be a big downgrade most likely. I would use a slip on if necessary

Thanks for the info. I have decided to probably sell it . I am very recoil sensative with my shoulder and yes even the 25 06 causes pain. I figure if I do anything to it it will make it worth less .
